Quinoa has a light, fluffy texture slightly sweeter than white quinoa when cooked, and its mild with a nutty flavor makes it an alternative to rice or couscous. Our organic quinoa is grown wild and free of any pesticides and chemicals.
Quinoa has the most complete amino acid profile of all grain. It cooks in just 12 minutes and is delightfully fluffy.
To prepare, start with some olive oil and shallots in a pot. Add the quinoa with water or broth (liquid should be ½ the quantity of quinoa) and allow to boil then reduce the heat to minimum and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes, while covered, until dry. After cooking keep on the side for 5 minutes for each grain to double in volume and be ready for eating. Can be served as a garnish or in salads.
